The program

From having psychedelic experiences to building a practice.

Seven parts, in order, at your own pace. Each one closes with questions to reflect on.

  1. 01

    Orientation

What Psygaia is, why the program exists, and an honest look at where you are starting from.

    Reflect

    Why are you here?

  2. 02

    Understanding psychedelics

What psychedelics are and what they can and cannot do, the risks and contraindications, and why set, setting and support include your relationships, culture and surroundings as well as the room you are in.

    Reflect

What relations give rise to the mind?

  3. 03

    Building capacity

Mindfulness as the core skill, body awareness, and the support around you. All three are easier to build before an experience than during one.

    Reflect

What will help you meet whatever arises?

  4. 04

    Preparing

Deciding whether now is the right time, clarifying your intention, working out dose and intensity, choosing and briefing a sitter, and designing the setting.

    Reflect

    Why this, and why now?

  5. 05

    Navigating

What changes in a psychedelic state, how to stay with difficulty, when to ask for help, and what to do with insights that feel certain at the time.

    Reflect

What keeps you steady when it gets uncomfortable?

  6. 06

    Integration

The first 48 hours, taking time to make sense of the experience, and turning insight into changes in your relationships, habits and surroundings.

    Reflect

    Integration into what?

  7. 07

    The long view

Psychedelics as one practice among many, and knowing when to journey again and when to stop.

    Reflect

What does enough mean for you?

  8. Kept up to date

Revised as research and best practice move on. A workbook, guided meditations and guest lectures follow in later releases.

    Included, always

We do not supply, handle, or administer any substance. In Canada we can point you to a trusted third party, but anything you buy is between you and them.

What's inside

The foundations of a healthy psychedelic practice.

Lessons on video and in writing, questions to reflect on, and a community around them. The program keeps growing after launch.

Video lessons

Seven parts covering what psychedelics are, preparation, the experience itself, integration and the long term. Yours to keep and come back to.

Written notes

The substance of every lesson in writing alongside the video, to read at your own pace, come back to later, or use instead of watching.

Reflection questions

Each part closes with questions to answer for yourself. The first ones ask where you are starting from, and the last part asks them again, so you can see what has changed.

Preparing the person beside you

How to choose a sitter, how to brief them, and what to agree in advance: touch and consent, boundaries, and when they should step in or call for help. A later lesson covers being that steady person for someone else.

Microdosing Mindfully available now

Our three-week, fifteen-lesson microdosing course opens the day you pre-order. It is also sold on its own for $99. Many people start with microdosing, and the course teaches it with the same approach as the rest of Fieldwork.

Community of practice

Psygaia's moderated community, where you keep working on integration between lessons. Our guides lead monthly integration and breathwork circles, and you can ask questions whenever they come up. Discussing where to buy substances is not allowed. Founding members keep the community for life. People who buy after launch get 6 months of membership, then pay on a sliding scale from $5 a month, with $10 suggested.

Kept up to date

Fieldwork is revised as new research and better practice emerge, and later releases add a workbook, guided meditations and guest lectures. Every update and release is yours at no extra cost.

The approach

Mindfulness, relational support, and ecology run through every module.

All three come from one idea in Psygaia's research: your mind, your relationships and your surroundings shape each other before, during and after an experience.

  • Mindfulness

Noticing what is happening and responding to it with some skill. It is the core practice of the program, learned in ordinary life first so it is there when an experience gets intense.

  • Support

The people around your practice before, during and after an experience: the person beside you, friends, community, and professionals where they are needed. You put this support in place before you need it.

  • Ecology

Your relationship with the places and living things around you. It starts with a sit spot, a natural place near home you return to throughout the program, and carries through to integration and how you live day to day.

Why support is one of the three

In one clinical trial, dosing sessions were 78% silence. Participants said they were helped by presence, reassurance and knowing someone steady was available, rather than by the provider directing the experience. Support still matters, and during a session it mostly means a steady person in the room. So Fieldwork teaches you to choose and brief the person who will be there, and puts most of its weight on the weeks before and after.

See the research

In a published analysis of its psilocybin trial for PTSD, Compass Pathways measured how much of each dosing session was actually filled with speech. 78% of it was silence.

Asked what helped, participants named reassurance, validation and simply knowing someone steady was available. They did not point to anything the provider actively did to steer the experience.

What it doesn't show. The clinical trial had 22 participants with PTSD. Each was given 25 mg of COMP360 and supported by trained providers following a formal protocol. It tells us what helpful support looked like in those hours. It does not tell us that a prepared friend can stand in for a clinician, and we don't claim it does.

Is this for you?

Fieldwork is for you if…

Most people who come to us have been curious for a long time. They want to do it well, with support around them.

  • You've had experiences before and want to integrate them properly, or approach the next one differently.
  • You haven't decided whether to journey at all, and want to decide with good information. Deciding not to is a valid outcome.
  • You want to go in prepared and supported, with someone beside you who knows what they are doing.
  • You want structure, honesty, and community, and you're ready to take your time.
It's not for you if

You're looking for a quick protocol, a guaranteed outcome, just a supplier, or a replacement for acute mental-health care. If you want one-to-one support from a guide, that's coaching, and you can book our guides by the hour.

Community of practice

We don't integrate alone.

Most people integrate on their own: a little journalling, a few insights, then back to normal life. The Psygaia Framework treats healing as reconnection: repairing your relationships with your body, the people closest to you, your work, and the living world you are part of.

Founding members get lifetime membership of Psygaia's Circle, which includes monthly integration and breathwork circles led by Louis and other guides, and a moderated place to ask any and all questions. After launch, Fieldwork will include 6 months of membership, then a sliding scale for membership from $5 a month, with $10 suggested.

Reviews

What students said about Microdosing Mindfully.

I loved this microdosing course. Not only did it provide practical instructions on how to microdose, but it gave me a lot of tools for how to process emotions, negative beliefs, and anything else that might come up. It's a really well-rounded course created with a lot of forethought and care.

Anna Khandrueva Trauma Therapist · On Microdosing Mindfully

As someone with anxiety, the emphasis on safety and reflection made all the difference. I felt contained rather than pushed. I'm grateful for this course and its mindful, intentional approach.

Lauren Charriere Climate Researcher · On Microdosing Mindfully

This course and community helped me slow down and notice how subtle my responses actually were. I stopped trying to 'get something' from microdosing and started listening.

Leya Sukhwender Graduate Student · On Microdosing Mindfully

I really enjoyed this microdosing course. It helped me learn how to combine microdosing with meditation to facilitate awareness, healing, and deeper focus. The course felt comprehensive and the community is great.

Matthew Cote Programmer · On Microdosing Mindfully

The most comprehensive microdosing course I've taken. Also, Psygaia's Circle is a special community to be a part of.

Louis Belleau, MA

MA Psychedelics & Consciousness Studies · University of Ottawa

As founder of Psygaia, Louis has spent years working directly with people navigating psychedelic experiences — building this program around what he observed them genuinely needing, not just what the literature recommends. He holds an MA in Psychedelics & Consciousness Studies from the University of Ottawa, an interdisciplinary background in Psychology, Philosophy, and Religious Studies from McGill, and is a certified yoga and breathwork teacher.

Louis created Fieldwork in response to a gap he observed in psychedelic education — where technical protocols dominate, and the reflective, relational work that makes psychedelic experiences genuinely meaningful gets lost.

The field also lacks an ecological, systems-based perspective on psychedelics and their effects on consciousness and health. For Louis, psychedelics are more than clinical interventions or therapy tools: they are ecological molecules within ecological networks, recognised by many cultures as teachers and sacraments.

Safety & standards

Careful by design.

Screening comes first

Risks, contraindications and medication interactions come early in the program, before any planning. The readiness lessons say plainly when not to go ahead, and treat that as a valid outcome.

Evidence-based

Grounded in the clinical research on preparation, set and setting, and integration, and honest about where that research is still thin.

Trauma-informed & paced

The program goes at your pace, tells you clearly what to expect, and puts your nervous system's safety first.

Honest about scope

We support wellbeing and growth. We don't diagnose, treat, or cure, and we never supply, handle, or administer substances. In Canada we can point you to a trusted third party, and you buy from them directly.

Common questions

Honest answers.

What people ask before they pre-order.

When does Fieldwork open?

By 31 March 2027. The curriculum is being written now. When it is ready it appears in the same account you pre-ordered with, and we email you the day it opens.

The first release is the whole program in video lessons, written notes and reflection questions. A workbook, guided meditations and guest lectures follow in later releases, and the program keeps being revised as research and practice move on. All of it is included.

What do I get when I pre-order?

Microdosing Mindfully, our three-week microdosing course, and lifetime membership of Psygaia's community. Both open the day you pay.

Fieldwork itself opens by 31 March 2027, and every later release and update is included at no extra cost. The founding price is $199; from launch it will be $299.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You can ask for a full refund at any time before Fieldwork opens, and for 14 days after it opens. Email hello@psygaia.org and we will refund it, no questions asked.

Where did Microdosing Mindfully go?

Microdosing Mindfully is now part of Fieldwork. A founding pre-order includes the course, and you can start it the day you pay.

I already bought Microdosing Mindfully. Does anything change?

No. You keep the course and your lifetime community membership.

Is there a guide? Do I get 1:1 support?

Not in the program. Fieldwork is self-paced. You get the lessons, the reflection questions and the community. There is no private guide assigned to you and no phone line on your session day.

You won't be alone. The program teaches you to choose and brief the person beside you, and our guides moderate the community.

If you want one-to-one support, you can book our guides from $100 an hour on a sliding scale. You can take the program and book just an hour or two with a guide around your session.

Which substances is this built for?

Psilocybin, or magic mushrooms, is the main example throughout, and most of the research we draw on studied it. The program also covers how LSD, mescaline and DMT or ayahuasca differ.

The method applies to other substances too. Careful screening, weeks of preparation, someone steady in the room, and structured integration afterwards stay much the same from one substance to the next, but the risks differ. Ayahuasca brings MAOI interactions and rarely suits a session at home. MDMA and ketamine are not classical psychedelics, and each carries its own risks.

Is this legal?

Fieldwork itself is legal. It is education, preparation and integration material, and none of it involves supplying or administering any substance.

The substances themselves remain controlled in most countries, including Canada. You are always responsible for understanding and following the law where you live.

So where does the medicine come from?

Not from us. We do not supply it, handle it, or administer it, and nothing you take ever passes through us.

If you are in Canada, we can point you to a trusted third party once you are enrolled. You buy from them directly, and what they send you is their responsibility, not ours.

They deliver in Canada only. Outside Canada we have nobody to point you to. You can still take the program, because the preparation and integration work the same anywhere. You are responsible for finding a source and for following the law where you live.

What if I am on antidepressants or other medication?

This is covered early in the program. SSRIs, MAOIs, lithium and a number of other medications interact with psychedelics in ways that range from blunting the experience to being dangerous.

The curriculum gives you evidence-informed guidance, and for some medications that guidance is to avoid psychedelics while you are taking them. Never change prescribed medication without talking to your prescriber. If your situation is complicated, talk to a clinician.

What happens if my session gets difficult?

Difficult moments are common, and they are usually a normal part of the experience. A whole module is about meeting them: slowing down, coming back to your body and the room, asking for support, and recognising when you need more help than you have.

There is no guide on call, so the preparation is essential.

Who actually sits with me?

Someone you already trust: a partner, sibling, or close friend. We do not send a stranger into your home and we do not expect you to find a professional.

The program shows you how to choose and brief them. A prepared sitter is a trusted person who knows what they are doing. They are not a clinician.

What if I do not have anyone to sit with me?

This is the most common worry we hear, and it is usually easier to solve than it seems. The person does not have to be your closest friend, or anyone who has done this before. They need to be steady and willing, and someone you can be yourself around. Most people who think it through find two or three people they had not considered.

The curriculum covers in detail who to ask and how to ask them. If there is nobody you can ask, wait until there is. The readiness lessons say the same.

Do I need previous psychedelic experience?

No. The program starts from the foundations and is written for people who are new to this and want to prepare properly.

Why not just read about this and do it myself?

You can read about each piece, and our free guides on How To Use Psychedelics cover a lot of it. Fieldwork is the only place that puts the pieces together: mindfulness as the core skill, support built before you need it, and integration that reaches into your relationships and the places you live.

The reflection questions then ask you to apply each part to your own life as you go. This is the step people most often skip when they work alone.

Is Fieldwork therapy?

No. It is a structured education, preparation and integration program. It is not psychotherapy or medical treatment, it does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it is not a substitute for mental-health care.

If you are in acute distress or crisis, please contact a crisis line or a mental-health professional instead.

Go in prepared.

You won't find this assembled anywhere else. Fieldwork teaches the Psygaia Framework — psychedelics as ecological and relational, with mindfulness as the core method.
